IEMCA SUPERFAST TECHNOLOGY

IEMCA has always aimed to constantly increase the productivity of its customers by designing high-performance bar feeders that can optimally support any type of lathe.

The exclusive Superfast Technology used on IEMCA bar feeders allows for drastically reducing lathe downtime, resulting in a significant increase in productivity. IEMCA Superfast Technology allows for the reduction of two key parameters that determine the performance of a bar feeder: bar change time and headstock dwell time.

BOSS 338 Superfast: the best technology for the market leader since 1991

The Superfast Technology developed by IEMCA finds its maximum expression in the model Boss 338 Superfast, the perfect choice for swiss-headstock lathes.

The Boss range guarantees maximum reliability without compromise: continuous product improvement, attention to detail, and over twenty years of history - and research - make it the quality standard for the market in most work situations. The use of Superfast Technology on the Boss 338 translates into a substantial reduction in bar changeover time and the elimination of headstock pause time, resulting in an average increase in productivity of 4%.

Drastically reduced bar changeover time

Thanks to Superfast Technology, the average bar changeover time for the Boss 338 loader is reduced by approximately 37%: from over 30 to 20 seconds, through the use of a new work cycle and a new components.

The phases that make up the work cycle are optimized through the use of new software, which increases execution speed. Furthermore, the machine uses high-quality components, such as the motor and PLC, supplied by globally leading brands: the speed - and production performance - of the bar feeder are once again maximized.

Elimination of headstock dwell times

The headstock dwell time, imposed on the lathe by the synchronization mechanism during collet opening and closing, is reduced to zero.

Thanks to the new PLC with its significantly faster cycle time, the increased execution speed of the bar feeder software allows for an average headstock dwell time of just 0.1 seconds, a value that can be considered practically zero.

A concrete example

What does Superfast Technology actually mean?

Let's take an IEMCA Boss 338 bar feeder and consider a bar changeover time of 20 seconds* and a headstock dwell time tending to 0*. If you produce 55 mm-long parts with a cycle time of 25 seconds, using IEMCA Superfast Technology allows you to achieve a 4%* increase in annual production, resulting in significant cost savings.
