The new configuration of IEMCA's historic model, BOSS Superveloce+, introduces an advanced level of automation for operations on the bar feeder. The Superveloce+ version includes all the standard features of the BOSS bar feeder, which have made it the market benchmark for the sliding headstock segment. Including the latest innovations introduced to improve ergonomics and ease of use, such as LED lighting on the guide channel, a larger window, and an ergonomic closure of the upper cover. 

Advanced Automation for Swiss-Type Lathes

BOSS Superveloce+ features new advanced technological solutions to further improve the performance of applications on Swiss-Type Lathes. Process automation and ease of use were the guiding principles of the design, leading to optimization of cycle times and overall performance.

Optimized bar stock management with autonomy indicator

Optimizing daily workshop management also involves the details. The new configuration of the BOSS model includes an innovative function to notify the remaining quantity of bars in the single-level magazine of the loader. The information is visible on the new operator panel, exclusive to the Superveloce+, equipped with a capacitive touchscreen and a completely revamped HMI interface. Furthermore, the warning is made immediately evident by the illumination of one of the machine's traffic lights.

The operator is alerted at two times: when an intermediate load level is reached and when there are no bars left on the magazine level, i.e., when the last bar is machined by the lathe. Warehouse load status notifications facilitate operational management of the production area, enabling more efficient scheduling of material procurement and maintenance activities.

Wizard Package: Advanced Solutions for Swiss-Type Lathes

Completing the "Plus" variant of the BOSS model, the Wizard Package represents a technological leap forward for machining on Swiss-Type lathes. The Package includes two devices specifically designed to minimize downtime and improve overall application performance, thanks to the integration of automated solutions.

Bar magazine with automatic adjustment

The automatic adjustment of the single-tier magazine based on the diameter and size of the processed bar guarantees an immediate time saving. The standard version of the magazine requires operator intervention and verification. With the motorized adjustment, however, it is sufficient to set the diameter value directly on the operator panel. The magazine adjusts automatically, eliminating the need for manual operations and significantly reducing downtime.

Bushing holder with automatic adjustment

The perfect combination of reducing retooling times and increasing production efficiency is achieved with the front bushing holder device with automatic adjustment. It is no longer necessary to manually replace the pair of front bushings in the loader during format changes: simply set the diameter and size of the bar on the operator panel. The bush automatically adapts to the bar and bar pusher, simplifying the process and limiting direct operator intervention.

With BOSS Superveloce+, the time required for retooling the bar loader when changing diameters and formats is minimized, allowing for the most continuous and uninterrupted work possible.

Furthermore, thanks to the introduction of the self-adjusting bushing holder, the bar guiding system on the BOSS Superveloce+ is extremely precise and effective. The self-adjusting V-shaped bushings adapt perfectly to the bar diameter, leaving no excess space. During machining, the bushing holder opens to automatically adapt to the diameter of the bar feeder - a feature that can be conveniently activated from the operator panel.

The presence of an additional guide point, capable of adapting to the diameter of the bar and bar feeder, significantly reduces vibration during machining, resulting in an overall improvement in production performance.
