Furthermore, the configuration featuring the Wizard Package (BOSS Superfast+) introduces a suite of technologies to further enhance application performance, particularly on sliding-head lathes. The Wizard Package integrates automation and optimization of work cycle times, offering an even easier and more simplified operator experience and maximizing production efficiency.

Ergonomics and ease of use to best complement sliding headstock lathes

The standard configuration of the BOSS bar feeder now offers new features designed to improve ergonomics and facilitate the operator's work. The need for intervention on the machine is reduced and facilitated, because operations that require production suspension are appropriately notified, targeted, and less frequent. The improvements implemented have a positive impact on work organization and the daily management of the workshop.

1. Guide channel with LED lighting for optimal visibility

A low-energy LED light has been installed inside the upper cover of the bar feeder to improve visibility during the work cycle and facilitate retooling and maintenance operations.

Especially in poorly lit work environments, the LED light shining directly on the guide channel allows the operator to more easily monitor the inside of the machine and work more safely when carrying out open-cover tasks.

2. Larger window for complete visibility of the work cycle

The new, larger plexiglass window also further improves visibility of the work cycle inside the bar loader. This opening on the upper casing allows the operator to easily check the quantity of bars in the single-tier magazine and verify the correct insertion of the bar into the loader's gripper. Any interventions can be carried out promptly, reducing machine downtime and ensuring a smooth and continuous workflow.

3. Ergonomic closing of the upper cover of the bar loader

The BOSS bar loader is now equipped with an ergonomic closing system for the upper cover. Thanks to the use of gas springs at both ends, the closing movement is slow and controlled, especially at the end of the stroke. This prevents sudden or accidental closing, protecting both the operator and the machine. This solution improves the overall ergonomics of the bar feeder, reducing the physical effort required and increasing operational safety.

Solutions for all sliding headstock applications

IEMCA not only focuses on ergonomics, but continues to develop solutions to best guide the bar inside the lathe in any working situation.

If required by the application, upon recommendation of IEMCA technicians, the BOSS model can be equipped with the BDC device. This is a controlled diameter bushing positioned between the lathe and the bar feeder, which adds an additional guide point to better manage shaped or poor-quality bars that are not perfectly linear, significantly reducing vibration and noise during machining.
